QAD Solutions

The majority of TailorPro customers use the tools in a QAD environment, successfully customizing standard “vanilla”QAD applications to adapt to their business’s unique and changing requirements. We are recommending this technology to every QAD customer. Ask for customer references and speak with their in-house developers who for years have created Non-Invasive solutions for their business requirements.

Every version, every UI

TailorPro works seamlessly with all of the QAD user interfaces, from ChUI and GUI to Desktop and .Net UI. It has been implemented in versions as old as 7 and as recent as eB 2.1 with domains. .Net UI integration is an add-on module.

No performance degradation

Response time testing at the Progress Corporation’s performance labs shows TailorPro’s performance impact on QAD to be sub-millisecond. That is, it is invisible to the hardware or users.

Different behaviors, one system

TailorPro’s context sensitive implementation allows custom behavior to be turned on or off based on user id, security group, domain, entity, site, country, or even at the record level. One adaptation can run for users in Singapore creating sales orders for mainland China, while within the same QAD implementation another adaptation can run for users in the US creating sales orders for parts manufactured in Mexico. You can make the rules as complex as you need. These adaptations also support the user’s language requirements. Any language supported by Progress can be used within TailorPro. Imagine the opportunity as you consider collapsing your many implementations to a single database with eB 2.1 with domains. You can still give each group their version of sales order entry, using just the standard QAD code and a single menu structure.

Solutions

Customers use TailorPro to achieve the new and revised functionality in the system that their business requires. Adaptations are unlimited, from custom surcharges at time of shipment to integration of data from external systems to new processes and controls to implement business policies and procedures. Customers have created more robust inquiry screens by disabling the fields in maintenance screens. They use the tools to insert or capture critical information in a process. They validate the sales order details based on unique business rules. They generate a warning or error when an inventory transfer violates an internal policy. They display training information the first three times a user executes a transaction. They’re using TailorPro every day to leverage standard QAD more effectively in their organization.

QAD Support

TailorPro customers can take better advantage of QAD support after they’ve migrated their customizations to TailorPro adaptations. Adaptations can be easily turned off and on, removing any concern that a customization is at the root of a system problem. This eliminates confusion and makes support interactions faster and more effective.

QAD Upgrades

TailorPro customers are not stranded on aging versions. Non-Invasive Customizations reside entirely outside the QAD source code and database schema, and thus do not hinder the application of patches, service packs and upgrades. They can be easily and individually turned on and off while the upgrade is tested.
